'Attitudes to difference' report
Dear Colleague,
NCB NI/ARK (and sponsored by OFMDFM) have recently published the report 'Attitudes to Difference: young people's attitudes to, and experiences of, contact with people from different minority ethnic and migrant groups in Northern Ireland'.
The report is the first of its kind and considers how young people from different ethnic communities view each other in Northern Ireland.
The report can be accessed on-line at http://www.ncb.org.uk/pdf/ATTD_web_final.pdf
In summary, this report highlights the lack of integration of pupils from different ethnic backgrounds and the need to work proactively with students to explore racism and the strength of having a diverse society.
We have also worked with our young researchers to produce a young person’s version of the report which summarises the findings of the research. If you require copies of this summary, please do not hesitate to ask.
Best wishes,
Celine McStravick
