Critical Literacy and Power...
Steph... your understanding of critical literacy is SPOT ON...100% on the ability to develop a questioning frame...why we loose the ability to ask? to enquire? Is it because of how power is exercised?
It is really powerful to realise that we can all re-developed our ability/capacity/knowledge to ask.
critical literacy
For me, critical literacy is about our fundamental ability to develop a questioning frame of mind in pursuit of 'the bigger picture' - particularly our understanding of the way in which different forms of power are exercised, both locally and across the 'global' stage. Ideally introduced from nursery school on!
Principles of critical literacy
Louise: Critical Literacy has three key principles. You can read page 4 of the OSCD pdf document is in training content - day 1.
What are the principles we explored based on Critical Literacy?
Louise asked:
Would it be possible to clarify what is being asked for in this question?
'' Does this mean - what is critical literacy, or what are the principals of critical literacy?
